Job Description

Location: Rochester, NY

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and project budgets based on plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Review drawings, scope documents, and project requirements to identify labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
  • Develop competitive bid packages and project pricing proposals.
  • Analyze project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives.
  • Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and field personnel throughout the estimating process.
  • Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project reviews as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience in construction, specialty contracting, building services, or a related industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Preferred experience with estimating software and digital takeoff tools.



Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in construction estimating or project cost estimation.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
  • Strong mathematical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to prepare detailed and accurate estimates independently.
