About Our ClientOur client is a digital scorekeeping app with a mission to enhance the youth sports experience.Our Client’s NeedsAs a customer obsessed company and to better serve the community, our client wanted to scale the app to offer more functionalities and cater to a wider number of sports. From this ambition stemmed the need for building out their Product Design team with 4 new hiresWith an approach to partnering with our client from a long-term perspective, demonstrating our team’s deep understanding of the Product Design roles and our passion for sports, Michael Page Technology won the pitch against other recruitment agencies.Our SolutionOur Account Lead met with the Director of Product Design and HR to assess the requirements from each of the 4 roles and align on the hiring process. Candidates with experience in small media or sporting companies were identified based on the track record reflected in their resumes and UX/UI design portfolio. However, given our placement track record in product design roles, we recommended the hiring team to be open-minded to also consider strong candidates with non-sporting backgrounds.We worked with HR to schedule the 3-stage interviews: a one-hour call with the Director of Product Design, followed by a cross-functional interview where candidates were to present case studies and conduct an app review, and finally a culture interview. We also prepped the candidates for the interviews ensuring each of them effectively communicated the process behind their work achievements, whilst also demonstrating their customer-centricity.Our Account Lead ensured all the scheduled interviews were progressing smoothly helping move along the hiring process. At the offer stage, we worked closely with the HR team to ensure the offers extended were at a competitive rate, resulting in offer acceptances across all 4 roles. The new recruits are helping push our client’s design practice forward and are empowered to contribute to the design team’s strategy. ResultsWe placed 4 Product Designers. We continue to be the client's preferred recruitment partner. Referrals from the successful relationship led us to win and place 35 new roles with other clients.
